What would Single-Payer Be Like?
Single-payer healthcare means that ALL medical expenses are paid from tax revenue and are delivered free to the user. Doctor and dentist visits, medicine, tests, hospitalization, surgery – everything! It’s just like being in the military, truly socialized. What’s that I hear going off, alarm bells from the petrified opinion group? Just stick with me for a second and I’m sure you’ll see the advantages. I’ll take the questions one at a time:
Q. Government delivered healthcare! You have to be kidding! They can’t do anything right.
A. The government won’t be delivering healthcare, our physicians, dentists and pharmacists will. The only role the government plays is paying the invoices, checking for fraud and licensing. They already do this with every provider for Medicare/Medicaid. This would just extend to the young the same service now provided to the elderly.
Q. Won’t this open the doors to unlimited consumption, overwhelming the system to make people stand in line?
A. No, people are standing in line now. This will reduce waiting time. People would only go to doctors when sent there by a pharmacist. Pharmacists know exactly which pills a doctor would prescribe for minor ailments and would just give them out. If you really do need to see a doctor, the pharmacist will know it and send you to the appropriate one to handle your illness. If you have a favorite doctor, they can schedule you with him/her. Emergencies of course would be handled in emergency rooms as they currently are.
Q. Won’t this cost too much?
A. It will cost much less than half what is now being spent. Providers will be paid a handsome salary based on their qualifications. It will remove the profit motive. This will insure that no unneeded services, no unneeded surgeries, no unneeded tests are offered up. If firemen were paid like doctors, they’d be out setting fires to make more money. Insurance alone adds 30% to the cost and they treat nobody. There will be no insurance to buy, no clerks for doctors to hire.
Q. What if the doctor screws up? Can I sue?
A. Yes, but it won’t cost you or the doctor anything to resolve the dispute. That’s one reason single-payer legal would exist. All legal complaints would be handled without charge to the user. It’s the least good government can do. Doctors, dentists and lawyers would all become paid by the same cost-sharing way we pay for our military, police, firemen and teachers; all socialized. We must do this for the benefit of all and to reduce an expense that makes all American products uncompetitive.

Universal Single Payer Legal Care Now!

LEGAL CARE COSTS IN THE UNITED STATES are skyrocketing, with tort costs alone draining American families of $865 billion dollars annually, a sum greater than the entire combined domestic products of New Zealand, Hong Kong, Ireland, Vietnam, Qatar, Ecuador, and Luxembourg.
ARE WE GETTING OUR MONEY’S WORTH? ACCORDING TO THE TIMES of London, our legal system is worse than those of Russia and China. Are we any more safe, just and lawful than other industrialized countries such as Japan or Great Britain where the legal care cost burden is half of what we pay per capita?
HALF OF ALL POOR AMERICANS SUFFER from at least one serious legal problem each year, but 75% of them have no access to legal care services. At the same time, the AVERAGE PROFIT PER PARTNER of the most successful law firms was $755,000 per year…and yet these attorneys provided only eight minutes per day of pro-bono legal care services to the helpless who suffer from serious legal conditions.
This is one of the pleasant surprises of browsing/surfing or whatever you want to call it. You can easily find something that matters or at least entertains.
I want you to know that I appreciate this.
